Roma Roth is the Creator and Executive Producer behind the CTV/Fremantle series SULLIVAN’S CROSSING on which she also serves as Showrunner. Under her guidance, Season One quickly became the #1 dramatic series in Canada as well as the highest rated drama series in Canada. SULLIVAN’S CROSSING also aired in the US on the CW where it became the #1 most watched series for the US Network. SULLIVAN’S CROSSING was recently acquired by Netflix where it took the coveted #1 position on the streaming platform. Season 3 of SULLIVAN’S CROSSING has once again become CTV and Crave’s most-watched Canadian drama series and has consistently been in the Top 20 series each week throughout its third season run for both platforms. SULLIVAN’S CROSSING has maintained its position as CTV’s #1 Canadian Scripted Series every season, and is CW’s #1 watched series, and now also airs globally on Netflix. SULLIVAN'S CROSSING recently completed filming its fourth season.
Roth is also the brainchild behind the hit Netflix Original series VIRGIN RIVER which she set up as a straight to series order with the streamer, and which has since grown into a global phenomenon. Currently heading into its eighth season, VIRGIN RIVER is Netflix’s longest running Original Series and was recently listed by Bloomberg (based on Nielsen Ratings) as being in the top five most-streamed shows of the decade with 40.4 billion minutes streamed.
Roma Roth is also President of Reel World Management (RWM), a production and distribution company that develops and finances hit series, television movies and feature films. Her extensive credits include Executive Producing over 70 TV Movies as well as developing, and Executive Producing SULLIVAN’S CROSSING and the original Netflix series, VIRGIN RIVER.
An established screenwriter, Roth has many television writing credits including the movie, THE STEPCHILD (starring Paul Johansson and Lauren Holly), which she wrote, directed and produced. Roth has been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award, is a member of the WGC, DGC, PGA, and CMPA as well as the Canadian Academy of Film and Television, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Alliance for Women in Media.
