The father of two sons and one beautiful, little girl, Steven works as a Disaster Recovery Manager for Sunlife Financial. He is the published author of 12 books including: Pressed Pennies, The Unexpected Storm: The Gulf War Legacy, A Father’s Love and Jacob Evans. His work has appeared on NBC's Today Show, CBS's The Early Show, CNN’s American Morning, BET’s Nightly News, Good Day Atlanta; in the New York Daily News, Newark Star Ledger, Boston Globe, Detroit Free Press, Providence Journal, Dallas Morning News, Orlando Sentinel, Pittsburgh Post Gazette, The Daily Oklahoman; and on 50+ nationally-syndicated radio shows from coast-to-coast.

As a free-lance writer, he has published more than 140 articles both local and abroad. His work has been showcased in such national literary journals as Taproot Literary Review, American Poetry Review and Fresh! Literary Magazine, as well as various magazines to include Angels on Earth, Obadiah, Gold Dust, Writers Post Journal, Empowered, G.F.O. (U.K.), Skyline Literary, The Writer’s Notes, Alive Now, Liguorian, Emirates Parent Plus and Spinnings Short Stories. Hundreds of his essays, poetry and short fiction have been contributed to Internet publications such as Zine5, New Mystery Reader, Wilmington Blues, Father's World, and dozens of others.

Three of Steven's short stories were selected "101 Best" for Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

Steven has written/produced several films: HEARING ZOE (Mulligan Gang Productions; 1999); ACQUAINTANCES (Rising Tide Entertainment; 2001); HURRY UP & LAUGH (Abnormal Society Studios; 2003); FLATLANDERS (Abnormal Society Studios; 2004)

In 2008, Eric Holloway of Blue Mercury Productions (Christian Filmmaker) optioned Steven’s feature script, GOOSEBERRY ISLAND (scheduled to be premiered at the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in Lexington, KY in March 2010). Also, Independent Film & TV Producer Christian Peschken recently optioned Steven’s feature script, THE ROCKIN’ CHAIR. The project is scheduled for pre-production in early 2010, set to be shot in Wisconsin. The budget is between $5 - $10 million.

Steven is also an accomplished speaker and currently teaches the popular workshops Publish: See Your Work In Print and Writing Fiction That Sells for the Learning Connection of Rhode Island. He has also written THE AUTHOR’S TOOLBOX, assisting other writer’s in the marketing and promoting of their work, and has appeared in Marquis Who’s Who in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

He is hard at work on his fourth novel, currently untitled. When not spending time with his children, writing, teaching, or promoting his works, this Massachusetts author speaks to troubled children through the Straight Ahead Christian Program, as well as Street Speakers; a talented group of high school poets from the Whaling City A.R.E. Each March, he also hosts a comedy event for A Wish Come True, Inc. http://www.awish.org/ In the past four years, he has raised more than $57,000 for children with life-threatening illnesses.
