Among Rodney Gibbons many notable accomplishments are his ability to successfully create a blizzard in the heat of summer for Hallmark Entertainment’s Silent Night, a Christmas story starring Linda Hamilton for which Rodney was also nominated for Best Director at the 2003 Gemini Awards.

The Hollywood Reporter noted “...under Rodney Gibbons' sure hand, there is also grit and a few gut-wrenching scenes of suffering mixed in with the poignancy, coating the proceedings in a believable sheen.”

Rodney also directed a series of MOW’s for Hallmark based on the classic Sherlock Holmes mysteries, starring Gemini Award winners Matt Frewer and Kenneth Welsh. These included The Hound of the Baskervilles and an entirely original story The Case of the Whitechapel Vampire, which Rodney also wrote.

Other notable films include The Neighbor, a CBS movie of the week starring Academy Award winning actor Rod Steiger; The Pact, an HBO MOW starring Ryder Strong, Liza Zane and John Heard; Owd Bob, starring James Cromwell and Colm Meaney featured on the Disney Channel; and the Warner Bros theatrical release Little Men, starring Mariel Heminway and Chris Sarandon. Little Men also inspired a successful TV series of the same name.

Rodney also has screenwriting and script editing credits on TV episodes, miniseries and feature length films, most recently The Case of the Whitechapel Vampire for Hallmark and Race to Mars for Discovery.

Rodney started off as a Director of Photography, shooting TV ads, music videos, documentaries and twenty feature length films. These include the cult horror My Bloody Valentine released by Paramount and the Sci-Fi thrillers Screamers and Scanners 2 released by Columbia Pictures. Full lists available upon request.
